Rigid PVC conduit

Protect every cable, from the DB to the last switch

Electrical conduit is the pipework that carries and protects building wiring. Rigid PVC conduit is non-metallic, so it does not rust or corrode, it is light to carry and easy to cut and join, and its smooth bore lets cables be drawn through without snagging.

CANTER conduit is made by Suvega Innovations at Pipalkhiriya, Raisen. It is classified by how much mechanical stress it can take - LMS, MMS or HMS - so you can match the wall thickness to the job instead of paying for strength you do not need.

  • LMS Light
  • MMS Medium
  • HMS Heavy
Compare the three classes

LMS · MMS · HMS

Choose conduit by mechanical stress

The class tells you how thick the wall is and how much crushing and impact load the conduit is built for. Thicker wall, higher class.

LMS

Light mechanical stress

Thinnest wall of the three classes and the most economical. For runs that will not see physical load or impact.

  • Surface-mounted wiring
  • False ceilings and partitions
  • Dry, protected indoor runs

MMS

Medium mechanical stress

The all-rounder for homes and offices. A sturdier wall that copes with plastering, chasing and normal site handling.

  • Concealed wiring in walls
  • Internal masonry and block work
  • Light concrete work

HMS

Heavy mechanical stress

Thickest wall and highest crush and impact resistance, for conduit that must survive concrete and heavy loads.

  • Embedded in RCC slabs and columns
  • Underground and buried cable runs
  • Industrial floors and high-impact areas

Sizes & dimensions

Wall thickness and bore by size

Standard conduit is supplied in 3 m lengths with a socket on one end, in nominal sizes of 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50 mm.

The complete system

Conduit, fittings and junction boxes

Source the whole wiring run from one manufacturer, so every socket, bend and box fits the conduit it joins.

CANTER conduit fittings: circular junction boxes, bend, coupler, saddle clip and brass adapter

Fittings & junction boxes

Bends & elbows

Smooth sweeps and 90° bends for turning corners without kinking the cable run.

Couplers & reducers

Straight couplers to extend a run and reducers to step between sizes.

Tees & junction boxes

Circular boxes with one-, two-, three- and four-way entries, with screw-on lids.

Saddles & adapters

Clips and saddles for surface fixing, and brass-threaded adapters for equipment connections.

Why choose CANTER conduit

  • Virgin PVC resin, no scrap - made from high-quality virgin PVC resin; no scrap, regrind or recycled material is used.
  • Three classes, one supplier - LMS, MMS and HMS, so each part of the building gets the right wall thickness.
  • Non-metallic and corrosion-free - no rust, no earthing worries from the conduit itself, and unaffected by damp plaster.
  • Smooth bore - cables pull through easily, with less abrasion on insulation.
  • Matched fittings - sockets, bends, couplers and boxes made to fit the conduit.
  • Light and easy to work - quick to cut, join and fix, which saves labour on site.

Where electrical conduit is used

  • Residential wiring - apartments, villas and independent houses
  • Commercial buildings - offices, malls, hotels and hospitals
  • Industrial plants and workshops
  • Telecom, data and cable ducting
  • Street-light, pump and underground cable protection (HMS)
Not sure which class? As a rule of thumb: LMS for surface and ceiling, MMS for wall chasing, HMS for slabs, floors and underground. For a particular project, ask our team.

Installation tips

  1. Cut the conduit square and remove burrs, so cable insulation is not damaged during pulling.
  2. Use only solvent cement meant for rigid PVC conduit. Do not substitute plumbing cement.
  3. Fully seat the conduit in the socket or coupler and let the joint set before bending, pulling cable or casting concrete.
  4. Use proper bends and junction boxes at changes of direction rather than forcing sharp on-site bends.
  5. On surface runs, fix with saddles at regular intervals to prevent sagging.
  6. Seal or cap open ends during construction so mortar and debris do not enter.

Follow the cement manufacturer's instructions and local wiring regulations. Our team can help with project-specific questions.

FAQ

Electrical conduit - common questions

What is the difference between LMS, MMS and HMS conduit?

They are classes of mechanical stress - light, medium and heavy. The higher the class, the thicker the wall and the more crushing and impact load the conduit can take. LMS suits surface and ceiling wiring, MMS suits concealed wall wiring, and HMS suits slabs, underground and industrial runs.

Which conduit should I use inside walls?

MMS is the usual choice for concealed wiring in walls and internal masonry. If the conduit will be buried in concrete, choose HMS.

Which class is right for RCC slabs?

HMS. Its thicker wall is built to resist the weight and vibration of concrete being poured and compacted around the conduit.

What sizes are available?

Standard nominal sizes are 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50 mm in 3 m lengths. Ask us if you need other sizes, and tell us which sizes you use most so we can quote accurately.

How is rigid PVC conduit joined?

With sockets or couplers and solvent cement made for rigid PVC conduit. Brass-threaded adapters are used to connect to switchgear, boxes and equipment.

Do you supply fittings and junction boxes?

Yes - bends, couplers, tees, saddles, adapters and circular junction boxes to go with the conduit. Use the enquiry form to list what you need.

Can I buy electrical conduit in bulk or become a dealer?

Yes. We supply dealers, electrical distributors and contractors. Tell us your location and expected quantity using the enquiry form.

Planning a project or want to stock CANTER?
